When Listening Becomes Part of the Experience
During our participation at IMEX, we chose to do something different. Instead of speaking, we invited people to be heard. We created an interactive space at our stand with a single question: What makes an event truly unforgettable?
We didn’t offer suggestions or examples. We simply encouraged visitors to write their thoughts freely on our wall. The responses were many—spontaneous, honest, and personal. And as we read through them, we noticed something powerful.
Among hundreds of phrases, certain words started to appear again and again. Not because we prompted them, but because they reflect what truly matters to those who experience, organize, and appreciate great events.
Five words that say it all:
🔹 Connection – The most frequently mentioned. Events matter when they make us feel part of something. The connection between people, cultures, ideas, and shared purpose is the beating heart of every gathering.
🔹 Creativity – A constant theme. Guests value the ability to surprise, to break from routine, to evoke emotion through original ideas and storytelling.
🔹 Excellence – Not as perfection, but as commitment. Doing things with professionalism, care, and passion. Making it look effortless—because every detail is under control.
🔹 Details – Small things that make a big difference. The perfect temperature, an unexpected message, a warm welcome, the right music. Details are not decoration; they are part of the narrative.
🔹 People – Because ultimately, no event is just about logistics. It’s about emotions, shared experiences, and memories created between people.
This simple action gave us a powerful reminder: listening to the industry is also a form of innovation. It's not always about global trends, new technologies, or formats. Sometimes, the most important insights lie in the words people use when speaking from real experience.
